Update

Just another quick update that I forgot to mention:

I've recently been trying to piece together what I thought would be an unbelievably lucrative writing deal by bringing on an amazing co-author friend of mine and updating an extremely, popular mid-twentieth century novel into more simple, modern vernacular. I intended to parlay that into a 3 book set, but unfortunately was denied the copyright permissions.

This was by far the broadest stroke of genius I have ever come up with, and to be shot down, quite curtly in fact, was a crushing blow from which I'm still trying to recover.

Since this rejection I've had very little, if any, desire to write at all. I was certain that this concept was my ticket to becoming a full-time writer- I was wrong.

I still have intentions on corroborating with my super-talented friend though. In our younger years we always teamed up well, and I believe that with our completely unique skill-sets combined we can produce something special... time will tell.

On an high note (sort of):
My newest national article has been sent to the editor, and as far as I know, will be published in around 6 weeks. My contract obviously did have a non-use clause though (with a kill fee, thank goodness) so I'm still not certain it'll make the cut. To be quite honest, I never really did get the article up to my standards, but deadlines are deadlines. If I were the editor I'd probably kill it... we'll have to wait and see.

Another Post to No One

Just a brief post to apologize for the long gaps between entries, but with a day job, a wife, and three "wonderful" children, blogging (sadly) falls pretty far down the priority list. Especially since my "audience" is limited, to say the least.

Its the age old supply and demand aspect, kinda. Why supply it if there's no demand.

I intend to add a new writing sample in the next few days, so keep your eyes out. I'm also considering doing a short story here as a web-exclusive. I'll post my unedited progress in real time, so any interested reader can follow along... I'm not sure though, as I'm still bogged down on my novel and really should stop picking up side projects until I make some sort of progress.

Stay tuned... don't hold your breath.
